South Wales’ largest car retailer, which has sites in Cardiff, Bridgend, Swansea and Neyland, was honoured in recognition of the group’s performance during 2015 which was described by the manufacturer as “outstanding”.
Representatives from the group’s management team were presented with the trophy at the annual Mercedes-Benz Retailer Awards in London this week and they were praised for their all-embracing approach that ensures every area of the business received the same highly focused attention and clear direction.
“We tried to think of the one thing that Sinclair Group does that others don’t, but it’s not one thing, it’s everything,” said Gary Savage, CEO Mercedes-Benz UK.
“They’ve achieved what they have by hard work and dedication across the company and every employee plays their part in delivering a positive, efficient and friendly service.”
Director Andy Sinclair, whose grandfather Bill founded the business in Port Talbot in 1945, was delighted that the group and his colleagues had been named the UK’s best by the manufacturer in such a landmark year.
“Receiving this accolade for our 70th anniversary year makes it even more special but 2015 was memorable in so many respects for our Mercedes-Benz operation,” he explained. “We achieved record sales of new and Approved Used Car sales, recorded high levels of customer satisfaction scores across our sales and after sales departments and were involved in several Mercedes-Benz initiatives in the workshop and with our pop-up shop at St David’s Centre in Cardiff.”
Andy, who collected the award from All Blacks legend Sean Fitzpatrick and TV celebrity Myleene Klass, concluded: “We are fortunate to have a very loyal following amongst our customers throughout South Wales and a fantastic Mercedes-Benz model range to showcase. But we also have teams at each of our four Retailers who are committed to providing an outstanding retail experience and this award is testimony to their contributions and hard work, which have been fundamental to our success.”
